The next Liberace?

While I attended a friend's bridal shower on Saturday, Avery spent some time with Aunt Karen. Karen took the opportunity to give Avery her first piano lesson. I hope Avery will want to play the piano for real in the future and continue her musical heritage!

8 Years Later.....

Eight years ago today, I went on a blind date with a girl that my co-worker Gwen urged me to see. She thought we would hit it off. Boy, did we ever! We attended the Indianapolis Tennis Championships at "that girl's" suggestion. The match only lasted 19 minutes as one of the players was injured, but our date lasted eight hours! So here we are eight years later. Teresa and I are still as happy as we were that first summer eight years ago. I can't believe how fast time has gone but am grateful for every moment we have spent together. Now these moments include Avery, which makes them that more special. This is our first photo together. Taken at my parents' house on Thanksgiving 2001.

Just sittin' around

Last weekend, Avery seemed to be holding herself up well. So I sat her on the floor by herself. And she stayed there for several minutes and never fell over! Since then, she's loved sitting up to play with her toys. Look at our big girl!

We always say that the cloth diapers give Avery a big butt. So thanks to Aunt Karen for this cute onesie:

Here Kitty, Kitty!

On Sunday, I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the U.S. Senior Open golf tournament at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel. Teresa and Avery hitched a ride with me to visit Aunt Karen and her "baby boy," Oliver. Avery and Oliver seemed to get along nicely as Karen captured some of the finer moments. Avery thought pulling Oliver's tail was a good idea. He didn't seem to mind.
Avery and Mommy enjoying the day.
Avery and Oliver getting more friendly with each other.
